AI assistance & image standards

AI tools may assist research, writing, translation or visual production. The publication remains responsible for checking claims, links, dates and source context. A fluent answer, popularity score or social post is not proof. We do not invent named reporters, quotes or first-hand testing.
We seek relevant original or properly licensed photographs first and check the person, place, event and date. Source credits identify provenance; Via, Collected or a Google result does not grant permission. A file photograph must not be passed off as a picture of the current event.
An AI illustration is an occasional fallback after an actual source-image search, not the default. It must be identifiable as illustrative and must not fabricate documentary evidence. Composite scenes must not imply that people met, an event happened or a product was tested when the evidence does not establish that.
We avoid generic images repeated across unrelated reports. Captions and rights information stay with website images; social artwork follows the publication’s approved layout. Report a misleading visual through the contact page.
